We provide Services of a not-for-profit, member-based organization. Indianapolis’ tremendous growth as a business center and its reputation as an amateur sports capital have caught the attention of cities all across the nation. Lacy Executive Leadership Series (SKL) informs, motivates, and raises the awareness of community issues and sense of community trustee-ship through seminars, tours, reading, and interaction with experts, leaders, and decision-makers. SKL believes that knowledge, exposure, and contacts acquired will enable the participants to increase their capacity to serve the community more effectively. SKL seeks individuals who have a sincere, demonstrated interest in the welfare of the community, who desire to improve their voluntary leadership, and who can and will influence decisions and changes. VISION - KNOWLEDGE - SERVICE : Develop your capacity to serve and learn with SKL… Selection Criteria: Candidates Should: Possess high standards of personal integrity. Demonstrate an interest in community issues and have a record of participation/achievement in voluntary community activities. Occupy a position reflecting significant professional achievement, relative to age and experience. Bring diversity (geographic, professional, ethnic) to the program. Commit the required time to participate actively. Have a sponsor and references. Hold or will hold a position with the authority or responsibility to exercise/assert significant community leadership (a consideration only). Plan to make Indianapolis your home. Government affairs :- As a Chamber member, you have seven full-time lobbyists fighting for your interests on the political arena on issues such as education reform, workforce initiatives, economic development and infrastructure enhancement. Highlights :- 2004-2007 Business Agenda: Every four years, we ask Chamber members what business issues you care about. Based on your input, we put together our "Business Agenda, " and your team of Chamber lobbyists focus their efforts on those issues for the next four years. RTA: A Vehicle Whose Time Has Come :- A regional transportation authority is a vehicle whose time has come in order to make the central Indiana region a better place to live and work. Business Advocacy Committee - Learn how the Chamber's BAC works and how you can help affect the laws that affect you. Marion County Tax Alliance Report - Our group of experts has come up with recommendations for potential funding sources for our city.
